Venue for a wedding party in Zürich

Hi

I'm looking for a venue for our wedding party in Zurich. We're hoping for a live band, somewhere to dance, a bar, some food and room for around 100-200 people. We had thought about barfussbar or bade enge but on closer inspection realise they both close just after midnight. We wanted something open a bit later, preferrably til 2.

Could anyone suggest somewhere? We want somewhere special, preferrably that makes the most of Zürich's location (hence the lake/riverside bars we've chosen).

The party would be on a Saturday next August/July, hopefully with good weather!!

Did you ask them if it is possible to pay for a permit to stay open longer?

10 years ago I had a private party in Zürich city, the restaurant in question closed at midnight, I paid 400chf for a permit to keep it open until 2am.

Bade Enge would be perfect.

They should be able to accommodate that number - not exactly a "lake" location - but fairly cool.

I will definately bear you mind for the band, once we've fixed a venue!

I've looked everywhere though but am struggling to find anything about the ceremony on english forum/the internet. We would like to have a "blessing" ceremony somewhere, either at a hotel or in a church but we don't pay church tax.

It seems to be a problem for a church as we're not registered anywhere (which would mean we have to start paying tax i presume).

I just wondered about whether we would have to start paying church tax if we had a blessing elsewhere.

We're not churhgoers but would like our wedding to be blessed. I don't really want to be tied to paying church tax for the rest of my life just because of the ceremony though!

Does anyone have any insight on this?

I recently photographed a party at Quai 61 in Zürich... awesome place, you are right on the lake, perfect place to enjoy the sunset and great team they have there... depending of course, in which season your wedding is planned :-)

Hi,

We're now also looking for a wedding venue for later this year.

Did you decide on a venue yet? Would it be possible to message me the best places you saw while you were looking? And had you come across any good photographers and DJs?

We've done a fair bit of research already, but would just be interesting to hear any recommendations you may have in case we've missed anything obvious!
