I've been debating putting some money into ETFs for a while, and in researching the collective wisdom of the board I came across VIAC as an option where I could benefit from the income tax reduction of a 3a while also not just have the money in a "normal" 3a earning negligible interest.
So I went away, did some more reading and was about to take the plunge and open an account to beat the year end cutoff for the annual 6000(ish)chf, but in coming back this week to see if there was any more mention of VIAC on the forum, it seems like the VIAC discussion thread has been deleted. Anyone know why please? If it's because something dodgy has become apparent with them, would like to know before I proceed!
It discussed VIAC strategies, how to set up the portfolio, but also referral codes where shared. Maybe that was the reason. But why gut the whole thread instead removing the posts with the referral codes?
No. Nothing dodgy is known. It is still one of the 3a fund offers with the lowest TER and high flexibility.
I can only imagine that the user who started the thread was 'hard' deleted in the fallout following the recent alleged security breach, which would have the effect of totally removing the whole thread.
One more reason I always veer away from suggestions that we allow full user deletions as a more regular thing.
I really appreciated that VIAC avoided bonds (more than my pension provider who has forced me into negative real yields and now capital losses) and took a very sensible appraoch and now has reversed this decision at a sensible point in time.
