Video Editing Software for Mac???

Currently i am using imovie........which is so bad its unreal.

I did look into getting something like Final Cut Pro, but i simply dont have the time to learn a highend program like this.

Can anyone recommend some free (or very cheap) video editing software for mac??

All i want to be able to do is simple things like joining video clips together, add text and pictures, add music and perhaps a few cool templates for tranistions between clips. Pretty basic stuff.

Try Final Cut express (or maybe studio? I forget which is which).

It is much better than imovie but nowhere near as expensive or difficult to operate as final cut pro.

What i have noticed is that apple has axed the final cut pro series and replaced it with 'Final Cut X' which from all the reviews online is a knife in the back to all the pro video guys.

Final Cut Pro and Express are not available anymore from the apple store in Zug. Now all apple software can only be bought from the online 'mac store'.

p.s. Let hope that that actually do a Logic 10 rather than Logic X which essentially will be garageband

Well, if it is now essentially a 'discontinued product' feel free to download a copy from the internet file sharing society. This is of course morally wrong in so many ways, and not something I would condone.

Final Cut is the way to go. You can get it directly from the app store for CHF 300:

http://itunes.apple.com/ch/app/final...933?l=en&mt=12

I use FCE - it's great. I've been using it for years and still haven't used all of it.

I would also put in a recommendation for Final Cut. Final Cut X shouldn't be an issue for you without any prior use of Final Cut, although there will probably be less outside online documentation.

Yes, FC or FCE - really good. A little bit like iMovie used to be before they messed it up updated it

Hello everyone!

I bought Final Cut Express like a year ago. I wanted to make a step more from the iMovie. But, as you all probably know; the difference is huge. I watched some tutorials on how to do certain things, but I got lost in all of that. I ran into some problems that I couldn't solve on my own...

So, I need help.

Question: does anyone here know (or can recommend me) someone who knows Final Cut Express and can explain me all the most important things?

Please let me know. It doesn't have to be someone with a degree or any kind of diplomas. The only thing that matters is that you KNOW the program. I want someone who can come to my home & teach me for like 2 hours a day. (I had someone like this only for Logic program).
