there's no faring on my bike so not an option to stick on the front screen.
i was thinking of putting it on the old uk tax disk holder which is located close to the chain guard but not sure if it has to be visible on the front or back of the bike?
does anyone know if there's an official place your supposed to put the motorway vignette on a motorcycle?
I asked the same question a few years ago, the official answer was to place it in a visible position on a part of the vehicle that is not easily removable. It does not have to be visible when you are driving past at 120 km/h With this information it was placed on a flat piece of plastic covering just in front of the tank (of course each bike is different...).

I have the impression (I was also told) that it is ok to have it in an invisible place (eg: under the seat) but it needs to be on a fixed part of the motorcycle when the police stops you and asks for it. You can remove the seat (usually this is easy on most bikes) and show them the vignette.
Recently someone told me they put it behind their number plates (they have multiple bikes sharing 1 plate) and it is perfectly legal (police verified this question).

On cruisers I have seen it attached to the windscreen.
I've also seen this attached to the rear mudguard below the rear tail light.
On mine, I unscrewed the windscreen off, gave it a clean and stuck it there. But I think any visible place is fine.
I made a photocopy, and cut it to size, then clear taped it on the outside of my clutch lever shield - easily visible. The original I carry with my Fahrzeugausweiss, to show as and when (until I need to take my trailer down the autobahn ).
Cross your fingers that you don't get pulled over and asked. It states that the sticker must be adhered to the vehicle. Keeping a vignette in your wallet (or with the Fahrzeugausweis) will probably get you fined. Keep a CHF 200.- note with the vignette as well

Based on some quick research I did, it also appears that the cost of the vignette is the same regardless of car/motorcycle. If this is true, it is too bad, considering that motorcycles use so much less of the road
you may also just walk down to your near-by motorcycle rental and take a look at the vignettes on all bikes there.
Easier said than done. My dealer sticks them to the frame of the bike under the seat.
I seldom use the autobahn on my bike - soooo boooring. In 2012, I used it twice - which is why I've adopted my above approach. If I regularly used it, then I would stick the proper vignette on. I'm a bit reluctant to stick 40 chufs on until I definitely need to.
If I need to tow my trailer on the autobahn, then I can still stick it on there - then I'll have to buy a third vignette, if necessary.
But as a rule I normally get away with two vignettes for a possible of 3 vehicular requirements (including car).
In fact I still have the 2012 bike/trailer vignette unattached - 40 chufs for about 100km is a fair trade off IMO.
It might not be right, but I'll take the risk - "Sorry guv', but I don't want it stolen, again".
I'm another under-the-seat guy. I've been through checks and I'd say the cops don't care about Swiss-tagged bikes.
I've seen some dealers stick them on the forks. I don't like how that looks and they are not cool to clean off. I like my hidden collection of stickers!
I avoid the Autobahn totally. 40 Franks saved there.

I have always put mine under the seat - I have never been controlled in 3 years here with a bike, but have heard quite a few other bikers saying that the police are fine with this solution.
Mine are stuck to the battery under the seat. If the cops want to see it, it takes seconds to lift the seat. In the 10 years I have lived here I have never been asked to show it!!!!!
I must also add that, when stopped on the A3 for speeding (ahem) the boys in blue did not ask to see my vignette.
