We were referred to an excellent vet in Lausanne by our own vet in Aigle. His name was Daniel Gmur. You can take the bus or Metro to Ouchy and then walk there if 5 minutes. I can describe where he was and that might help you track him down. Take the Chemin de Beau Rivage at Ouchy and pass in front of the Garage Beau Rivage. Keep left and take the fork in the chemin in front of the garage (ie don't go into the Hotel Beau Rivage) then climb the hill for 100yds or so and he's up there on the left at number 6 in what looks like a block of flats. Speaks English if necessary.
I'm afraid it's not a personal recommendation, in the sense that I've never had to use his services, but I know that there is a vet at the top of Rue Marterey, as I've seen pets being carried into the building.
It's a very short walk downhill from the Place de l'Ours, from either the new metro stop or buses 6 or 7
We - our cat - go to Dr Pfister and he's good. A little into teeth cleaning but he and his assistants have pulled us through a few emergencies with no apparent trauma.
I made an account just to recommend this veterinarian, especially if you are looking for an english speaking vet. I had a very good experience, the entire staff was friendly and my cat was accurately diagnosed quickly. And it was very affordable compared to the prices I paid in the US. We had two cats get check ups, a booster shot, an anti-inflammatory injection, anti-inflammatory pills, and a microscope with light inserted deep into an ear with a great display to watch all for 150 CHF.
Even though I have my own recommendation I have heard very good things about Dr Pfister as well- a dear friend had to have a very old cat put to sleep and he and his staff were extremely professional and gracious, my friend said that their actions and behavior and overall professionalism made a horrible situation more bearable than it would have been.
I used the Confrerie Veterinaire up in Epalinges... It is too far for you, but perhaps the reference will be useful for others.
The doctors have been really wonderful to all our cats, and when recently I had to put down my latest because gravely ill, they have been absolutely professional and understanding. Great follow-up.
Prices under 1/2 of what I paid before in similar situations in the US.
My beloved dog goes to Animed Veterinare Ave Tivoli 6 lausanne 021 312 4553..it is a brother and sister team and they are fantastic not only with your pet but also with you.
I took our dog to Dr. Gmuer's office this week and was very pleased. He helped me with the paperwork and gave me a great rundown of what meds and things to look for here that's different than in the States.
