Come on .. they must be kidding!!
That is complete bollocks ..I feel for you. That they can & are doing that in a central place like Zurich HB makes me feel even worse. Ganging up and rounding up a disgruntled customer to leave the shop premises .... ???
I wish and hope they get some crazy lawyer being pissed and suing them to eternity!
I bought a digital video camera from ID last year, got it home, stuck an SD card in and it wouldn't read it or eject it. My wife took it back to another branch of ID and they had a quick look, stuck there own sd card in (which got stuck) then phoned around to see if any other branch had one in stock, and gave us a full refund.
I can't see what your problem is, people do break things and try to claim, just let them send it back to cannon! worst case you'll have to pay a fee for repair, best case you'll get it back working, at the moment you have no camera and high blood pressure
When my konica minolta camera got broken there repair place in dietlikon fixed it for 80chf iirc, when I say fixed I mean replaced with a new one, as the case had been cracked and a switch from the motherboard ripped off, so I know they couldn't have repaired it without a new case and MB.
This is what I'd recommend as well, given it's under manufacturer's warranty. Canon are the ones who will make the repair/replace/return decision anyway; no need to deal with InterDiscount if they're being obstreperous.
I was not charged any money and it was fixed under warranty.
I'm sorry but I don't understand you... If the manufacturer does at the end say you broke it then you should probably sort it out there. Nobody actually refused service to you. What people say to you at the shop trying to predict what will happen does not matter. The LAW is on your side. Making a scandal does not help anybody and can only turn the law on their side if it goes wrong. And then again this is a DISCOUNTER. If you want better service maybe you should go to Fust and pay for the bells and whistles?
In addition, I checked the canon site and they have outsourced their repairs to Sertronic (same as Sony cameras) so I would really once more suggest to send it to them as our experience with them (for Sony) was great.
I know we sometimes want to have what is our right but in the end what is important is to get the camera fixed, the Interdiscount guys may just make your blood pressure rise and waste your time...
Ciao
C
They are the people that fixed my camera (see previous post) seems they fix them for just about all manufacturers
Sign the disclaimer as "M. Mouse, Esq." and when they ask you to pay for repairs (should it happen), then ask to see the form and say it's not your signiture, so you won't pay, possibly hinting to the manager that the f***nuts who wouldn't give his name must have forged it...
*****NEWSFLASH******
Inter Discount have accepted my claim , without me having to sign the disclaimer, and have now sent the goods off for repair/replacement...
NO further charges will be made...
One more for the consumer
How did you get them to accept, 14" machete?
How and what did you do differently this time that they agreed to take it back without signing the disclaimer?
I think the manager was pre warned about yesterdays visit. When i walked in to the shop and asked for him , he came out looked at me , went back in the office for a few minutes before coming out.
He simply apologised for yesterdays events , took the camera without question , printed of the usual forms, which i didnt have to sign, and told me it would be approx 3 weeks before i got the camera back. Ok so im without for 3 weeks, but as long as the camera is repeaired and they dont try to hold me to ransome for the costs im happy.
I did emphasise to him had the same thing happened yesterday , there would have been no further discussion needed.
I did nothing different this time... the manager just accepted what i told him , and proceeded to handle everything in a very diplomatic way ..
Alls well that ends well then... warms the cockles.
no i wouldnt even let him do that ...
Depressingly familiar Swiss attitude to f+ck ups. Cover their ears & sing Lalalalalalalala! whilst sticking their heads in the sand to avoid any responsibility.
It was someone's comment a couple of weeks ago on here that made me laugh, that 'Shut up and pay' summed up swiss customer service very well.
NOt for me im afraid... I will fight them on the beaches and i will fight them at sea.. I will die fighting them every inch of the way... I will not be bullied by the establishment ...
You see the fault in that statement don't you ..being a landlocked country people here are not used to fighting "on the beaches" nor "at the sea" ... Heck .. they even call the puny lake as "see"
Jokes apart ... Great going ..
Ok the saga continues..... as predicted Inter discount have now written to sya it is my fault the camera broke, canon have decided in there infinitewisdom thats its my fault and now want me to pay 362chf for repair , + 80 chf to interdiscount for handling the problem. Strange that this is EXACTLY how inter discount said it would happen... Im feeling extremely agrieved and miffed of to put it lightly. so any ideas anyone .. oh yes inter discount said another option is to pay them 80chf and collect the camera, and have a broken camera... grrrrrr
Man...this is an unbelievable story...I am really pissed off!!!
A total manipulation ̈.
Outrageous.
