Washing machine - Connection to bath or sink faucet.

Hi all,

Are the under-sink water connections in Switzerland standardised? I'm wondering if there is a ready-made adapter hose that I can purchase which will permit the connection of a washer to the water outlets under the bathroom sink.

I'm trying to avoid ID-ing the various couplings and cobbling something together.

As an alternative, I might be able to connect something to the shower hose outlet in the bathtub...

Normally they are, but you'll always find one cowboy who did things differently, best thing to do is measure the connector under the sink, measure the water inlet connection on your washing machine and go down to your local DIY store where they will have the corresponding hoses, I think there are about 2-3 different connection sizes, also measure the distance between the two connections to make sure that you get the right sized hose.

just make sure you have household insurance that covers flooding from modified sink couplings, and washing machines attachements that are connected to shower pipes/hose(s)!! cos if you ever cause some water damage of any kind! oh boy are you in trouble :-D

just a thought

Both are possible, just make sure it's set up by a professional (not that you wouldn't be capable as it's quite simple) because of insurance purposes. If you don't and there's any kind of damage, your insurance will not cover you if you've hooked up any kind of machinery yourself (this goes for lights as well)
