Hi all,
I am a big follower of Formula 1. I have cablecom connection in my apartment. I could not find any sport channel showing formula 1 with English commentary except BBC1 (which will show only 9 out 19 races). I have fast internet connection and I know that there are some online sites to watch. But those are of bad quality. Is there any other way I can watch it in HD quality?
Pabi
I don't think so, but if you find anything, make sure you post it!
My husband is a massive fan, this is the first year we won't be going to the Australian one (on account of being here and all!), and I think he's going to watch an Austrian telecast on one of the Swiss channels....
Watch on a Swiss HD channel with no sound and listen to BBC Radio 5 Live commentary, on line.
Isn't the live, English commentary still available on Radio5 Live or whatever it's become these days? Pretty sure one of the BBC stations has it, an then of course you can simply play that over the internet while watching whichever of the local channels you prefer.
Did that for a couple of the races last year, although there does tend to be a little delay, maybe a second or so, which can be somewhat distracting at times. And of course you don't always get a commentary on the instant replay bits.
TBH though, I just gave up and watched it when it was replayed on the beeb later in the day, given that it was only the races at god-awful hours of the morning or night that were stolen by Sky.
There are many livestream sites on the internet but I am not allowed to post them here.
Also the risk of a trojan (virus and hacking) is real, with such websites.
Why not subscribe to an official F1 site?
Plus they tend to be full of stupid annoying adverts, often interrupting play. Well, when I've tried them for Test cricket, that is.
What, you mean... pay?
Or perhaps not with basic precautions (avoid watching one particular "Ace" streaming system embedded in a browser rather than on a stand-alone player however). Quality is a bit variable though and with the current two "preferred" systems you do often find yourself 5 minutes behind the action...
Or just learn German. Although the quality of the Swiss German or Austrian commentary is absolutely dire. Is the Swiss French any better?
...mainly only because the source already has those adverts in it. The streamers mostly don't add any more apart from occasional invitations to donate via paypal in the top right corner of the screen.
I found this:
http://www.skyeurope.tv/watch-sky-sports-f1-hd-abroad
They say it's available in Switzerland.
I had Sky F1 HD for a while, I really liked it. Multi-angle etc. Way better compared to the BBC, although in my opinion David Coulthard is the best presenter.
I think one of the few sporting events which can safely be watched without commentary is F1.
