Water refill: Warranty or maintenance?

Hi All

I have a question.

A year and a half after our house was built, the water in our heating system had to be refilled (with de-mineralized water) due to low pressure.

Would you say this should covered under the warranty/guarantee or is this a chargeable maintenance job?

The other question is: Is the system leaking or is it normal for pressure to drop in the first year or so?

Never had to do it in such a short time, doesn’t sound normal to me.

Doesn’t sound normal to me either. We’ve lived here for 10 years and have never had to do it.

I think you are smart to suspect a leak. When we replaced boiler with heat pump we had to recharge the system but never before (18Y) and never since (6Y).

Quick update: The company that isntalled the heating claims that it is normal that water needs to be refilled, especially in the first period after comissioning of a heating system due to air present in the heating water which when released lead to a fall in pressure.

Uhm, sounds strange. Isn ́t it checked that the air is released when installing the heating? Never had that.

I am also not sure to fully buy their explanation. Even if that is the case, then at least I should not have to now pay a 350CHF bill for the refill.

Anyhow. I will observe the pressure in the next period to be able to react-
