Does anyone around here uses waze for navigating, and if so, could you tell how well it is updated in Switzerland?
(if you are not using it - better start....)
cheers

I don't know how well it is updated in Switzerland, but I have friends in the France and Netherlands who use it frequently with no problems.
Waze is excellent and if your data plan's up to the job, it has some nice things to display for you like speed cameras.
It's available for iOS and Android and of course is now owned by Google so who knows where it might end up. But get it now, for free
However, I think it's illegal here in Switzerland [1 ] [2 ], as it shows fixed and mobile radars
Just a small note to mention that a week ago Waze disabled the function to report the Police cameras.
You will notice on the other hand the reports of crashes, icy conditions have increased ![]()
Seriously, are there any police cameras on the roads nowadays? I have’t seen anyone policing trafficking for ages …
On the A1 between Geneva and Lausanne, just over 50km, there are over 20 fixed radar cameras.
Waze has tried to get around the prohibition on publishing the location by showing then as “police”
Six cantons publish the location of speed cameras: BS, LU, SG, SH, SZ, TI
The satnav we used to use in the car labelled the French ones as danger zones and showed an area on the map where the camera might be placed. ![]()
Loads around here both mobile and fixed.
