Weather radar

Anyone else find the animated last hour precipitation radar addictive when they are trying to work out what to do of an evening??

I want to go for a run after work - but rain is coming up the lake

I think I'll be staying in!

We always check the one on SRF if the forecast is a bit iffy, but yours has got prettier colours.

If you like that check out MeteoEarth on your smartphone. I could watch that for hours

Oh yes. It's probably the most useful form of short term weather forecasting ever.

I always use it at work to find out the likelyhood of getting soaked during my 15 min walk to the station. It's saved the tech crap I carry with me on a vast number of occasions.

I like the Landi rain forecast here , it covers a good chunk of the surrounding countries. I have been caught out with others that only show Switzerland as I live near the border & you do not see a big storm running in that only has to change direction slightly to catch you.

Ooops- link is fixed

That's the trouble with Schengen und EU and all that stuff. Nothing gets stopped at the border any more.

check your link

I have both the Meteo Suisse and Landi weather apps. and have just been comparing the radar animations.

For the app., at least, the outside of CH areas covered appear to be more extensive on the Meteo Suisse app., than the Landi one.

I like the Landi one ...... but use the other one more.

Thanks, it is fixed now

the only thing you need to know i guess?

Damn it! Wanna to go to the swimming pool tomorrow. If it is gonna rain it will be wet. Wait a minute, I will get wet in the swimming pool anyway My Weather+ although the truth sometimes hurts but it never fails me.

It's been out for years DK, I use the search.ch version. It's not that accurate in summer as most precipitation seems to "suddenly evolve" without warning. It's not reliable enough for all day hikes either, annoyingly these animations need at least 3G coverage to work, which is unlikely in the areas that you'd need it the most.
