Next month I'll be going to meet my friend who got married 6 months ago.
I couldn't make it to the wedding and so now I'd like give her something "Swiss" as their wedding gift.
I haven't been here in Switzerland that long so I don't have many ideas and I'd like to hear from you what I could get them as a gift. I would like preferably like something that's associated with Switzerland (for e.g when I was in Japan and used to go to friends' weddings abroad, I gave beautiful porcelain tea sets which most people liked). And if possible, it shouldn't be too expensive. By "too expensive", I mean not more than 100-200 Fr.

Sometimes you might find lovely gifts in CO-OP (Home section) or Manor and Globus has nice thing s too. . . Sorry cannot be of more help. (In ireland we generally give money)
Maybe a swiss cheese fondue set?? At Manor they have at least 10 models, and they are very nice, not very expensive (below 100chf the set) especialy now during the sales period ;-)
Hmm, I am from Romania, and we don't eat usually fondue since we don't have the habit and what we need for that( the set for egg, lets say that the cheese we could find it ). But well , from my point of view, we are opened to new things and tastes :-)
If not , a nice and small house decoration made in Switzerland ( a vase with edelweiss or something like this) I think that would do the trick
Are you near Zurich? In Zurich there is the "Heimatwerk" which sell different products made in Switzerland. Maybe they have something that you like.
Maybe you could also combine some of the things Switzerland is famous for and bring a basket that you will fill with different kind of cheese and chocolat. You could also ad a nice kitchen-towel with Edelweiss or something (you can find those as well at Heimatwerk but also in other places and a good cotton one is always welcome).
You could also ad a "Sparschäler" as they are Swiss as well. If you're in Zurich, Sibler has them. http://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?...20070604180856 (the orginal). This could also be combined with Swiss napkins.
You can put everything in a basket and that way you can also transport it easily and it's a nice present that can be adjusted to your budget.
If you like you could also throw in some other Swiss food-specialities like sweets or Würste. There are a lot of local ones so if you tell us where you live we can give you more ideas
I was in the same situation last year ie, looking for a perfect and original 'Swiss' wedding present idea. I finally found this limited edition picture from Bill and Bessie that went down really well: http://www.billandbessie.com/english...uct-6492514885 .
I also bought one for my own home and another as a Christmas present as I liked them so much.
A piece of Hergiswil Glass could be nice. There are both decorative and practical items across a wide price range. It is robust enough to survive being transported and to last for many years to come. You can find it in Pfauen, Manor or online http://www.glasi.ch
I'm going to a family wedding in the US this November. The bride and groom are outdoorsy, campers, etc, so I'm going to get them a Swiss army knife or similar, maybe matching Swiss army knives and have them engraved. The Victorianox store will do this, apparently. I asked the bride's mom and she thought it was a great idea.
