weird motorcycle names

While looking at a new motorcycle and browsing the net, I have come up with strange names like:

Kawasaki Ninja

Kymco Heroism

Suzuki Virus

TGB Bullet (only funny if you see a picture of it)

What is your favourite?

Honda Benly.

Beta.

Yamaha TDM. Say it aloud, you'll understand.

Since I can't think of any off the top of my head, here's a little slide show .

I knew an Irishman (or Austrian) who thought an Ichifani was a Japanese motorbike.

I always thought Virago is a really weird name for a bike. I don ́t know who made it but I distictly remember the name, being that it means a really manly woman.

Kawasaki Fire Bladder.

That's a bit mean -- a virago is a woman who exhibits heroic qualities which historically were associated more with men. But yes, it has a pejorative meaning as well.

The Virago is Yamaha's fault, again. It is a bit of a girlie bike, though.

... is a name that you just made up.

...AJS Porcupine...and before you snigger, an AJS Porcupine went up for auction, and it sold for 228,620 USD

A quick bike - my generation was always inclined to call the Blade that name.

The Suzuki Hayabusa (GSX1300R) doesn't have a weird name (apart from being difficult to pronounce or spell for non-Japanese-speakers), but its name (meaning peregrine falcon) is very clever. It's the fastest production motorcycle of the 20th century and perhaps to date, following speed limitations voluntarily imposed (through a gentlemen's agreement) on subsequent models, with a top speed in excess of 300 km/h -- which is the speed attained by peregrine falcons in their hunting dives. The clever part is that peregrine falcons prey on blackbirds, and the Hayabusa was designed and built to knock Honda's Super Blackbird (CBR1100XX) off its perch as the world's fastest production motorcycle.

I find V-Strom a bit weird, but that's probably me not expecting a german word in a japanese bike (and easy to be mistaken by Storm).

Which I did up to this posting.

Not a motorcyle, but the company name: Yamasaki .
