Thanks
If you are interested in a proper Sauna experience, then the Asia spa is better than the Thermalbad - which is more a thermal bad as the name says... I would try both actually because it's two different atmospheres, and the Asia spa is nudist. But they have several saunas, some of them with really high temperatures, and every hour a "ritual" in one of the sauna, where somebody comes and pours some essential oils on the stones, and then does some movement with a towel to move the warm air around...
Thermal bad is really nice for the roof top pool, and the atmosphere that is definitely a "couple" atmosphere - you can be sure some of the couples in the roof top pool do some kinky things under the water.... lol. The problem is that it is very very noisy because it is always full and there is echo inside - so if you're really looking to relax, I'd say Asia spa is the one. Massages are also better at the asia spa (proper chinese massages, for example).
Finally, in the evening, the Alpamare is not so bad either. It's a bit further away and less exclusive, but quite nice because it's a large open air area... and their main warm bath outside is forbidden to kids

It is definitely worth paying the bit extra to go into the Irish-Roman spa with all the different steam rooms and relaxations areas.
Yes, exactly so! We were there recently, and it was nothing less than a total accoustic assault.
We arrived well, but endlessly inane "musak" was forced upon us in the entrance hall, then very loud hairdryers (a whole herd of them) in the changeroom, and each tub and hall was an echo-amplifying disaster. Even though the water itself was nice, the blazing spotlights and the flickering effects of those reflecting on the water, plus the architecture reworked in such a way as to [inadvertently, let us hope] maximise every gurgle of the jaccuzzis and every squeak and squawk of the desperate folk there (we saw only very few people smiling, and a lot squinting)... these added up to leave us anything but relaxed. No "wellness" here. Instead our nerves were jangled and we had headaches by the time we actually got out of the place and could breathe fresh, quiet air.
I'd be interested to know the noise level, in decibels. Couldn't be healthy for the staff to have to endure that day in, day out.
It is gender separated though, saturday and monday for men only, the rest for women only.

Lovely outdoor warm salt water pool and various spas to relax.
I personally didn't like the Thermalbad in Enge (too many courting couples on date night getting stuck in on both occasions I visited) and it's weirdly dark though the pool on the roof was lovely.
I also find Asia spa quite large/dated now but that's only my own opinion. I think that the hamam is meant to be a bit better.
There is also the Migros Fitness Park.It had a bad reputation as a Gay meeting place. But might have improved now.

I thought it was pretty good value for CHF 43, even though it was fairly busy due to the weather. You can use the gym too (if you so wish).
