I was sent a survey to complete about a hotel my husband and I recently stayed at while on holiday. They wanted to know if I was a single guest, young couple or mature couple. This got me to ponder which to fill out. Of course I consider myself and my husband a young couple but would others? We are in our mid 40's and when we were truly a "young couple" (20's), that would be old. So what age are you considered a "mature couple"?
I reckon 50+ through to retirement. Then retired as the next category - although this is very arbitrary.
As an aside, my parents have a story of my older sister - when at a dinner party with friends she came down to say goodnight to everyone, one of the guests asked how old was "old", to which my sister (aged 7) answered 20.
This was greeted with some dismay...
Probably when you stop asking questions like this!!! 30+ I would say - mature is not the same as old
Could that be one of the rare cases, where the answer really is 42?
Forget age. What they really want to know is - will you have been at it only in the bed, or all round the room?
Of course being hoteliers they will couch it in more delicate language but that is the question.
40+ qualifies for "mature" imo, 30's is still young. Old would be 60+ when all the bits are getting wrinkly.
a thread fm lildeb! woo hoo
it wasn't cos i called you and mr lildeb --> maw & paw at devis was it?
my answer would be : do you ask for twin beds or a king size one?
I think the age number is irrelevant.
Most people will gauge it based on how you look, how you dress and how you carry yourself
Clark, while speaking to the French Ambassador (?) whilst watching belly dancing somewhere, bemoaned that three times a night was about all he could manage nowadays - I guess thats old.
I think, there is no age .. exactly, but if you get married at the age of 30 and have kids at the age of 33 or before 35 you become matured enough.
I know I sound like but yes, Marriage and kids make you matured. at least I think so...
Always a year or two older than your current age.
OK then, can we have a classification "immature couple"?
Same, but backwards.
Are you getting (even preliminary) junk mail from AARP or something similar? If yes, you are part of a "Mature Couple."
i would read it differently - if you were both 70, and had been together for 2 years, you would still be a "young couple" (see post about all thru the room )If you had been together for 50 years, you may or may not be mature...
I totally agree
Do they keep a dating list at the reception or what?
We're in trouble if they do.
as someone who works in a hotel I can tell you that the reason is we only have so many hidden cameras per hotel and have to place them strategically.
Yellow shivers running up and down my spine.
