Im new to Lucerne, currently need to buy some clothes for my husband for an Job interview. Was planning to go for a walk to the altstadt and see what I can find, but would be awsone if anyone can recommend me any particular store?

Ok, first, how we buy and how much money we spend for clothes is very different between different people.
I usually do not buy clothes in Luzern and very rarely in Switzerland. It's either shrunken range of usual fashion brands or when it's something special, I cannot afford it*
Check the Löwengraben, Weinmarkt, Kapellgasse in the old town, you can go trough all the shops in few hours. Than it's Hattrick on Pfistergasse, I think there is a one shop on Hirschengraben.
There are also usual Swiss chains like Manor and Globus, H&M for man is extremely small.
If it's not necessary wait that you can travel somewhere
*it's women fashion, but you can check for example "Claudia Waibel" Mythenstrasse 10, Luzern, on the other side of house block is "Die Handlung" where they also have few things for men, but not for interviews.

I was actually surprised by some of the clothes offered in Coop City at Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich. My husband found a presentable wool coat for an interview. They of course don't have the highest quality stuff so it won't look great for a long time, but it works in a pinch. We also went to Hudson Surplus and they had a decent selection of basics, although we had a hard time finding his size b/c he's tall.
Oops, sorry! I just realized you said Luzern. The Coop City suggestion will still help, but definitely try for some of the bigger stores. Maybe a trip to Zurich could help though because there are lots of nicer clothing stores too, I just don't frequent them.
I'm the same and find it pretty much impossible to buy clothes in Switzerland and I struggle to understand why. I see a lot of other guys my height and figure that they must shop over the border too because the shops here only stock clothes for people under 180cm. Surely there is a market here for the Big and Tall like one of my favourite shops in Germany
Usually go to Manor or Globus Outlet
If I’m looking for something nice then Jelmoli in Zurich, which has a good selection. Globus in Zurich doesn’t really cater to me, although Herren Globus in Zug has some good basics and is kind of mid range. Their upstairs is also more formal wear.
For jeans, chinos, boots, coats etc I shop at VMC Originals in Zurich. It’s very expensive, but they stock only the best in heritage/workwear, which will last for years.
WE is good.
I find the collections in the swiss stores are limited. For better collections, I always buy across the border.
Otherwise there are many stores in the 2 main streets Kapellgasse and the parallel street Weggisgasse.
if you like overpriced polyester, go for it.
