Me…? It’s freezing the goolies of a brass monkey outside, so I decided a hot water bottle is in order.
Filled it with boiling water, slung it under the covers and went for a piss.
Totally forgot the bloody thing didn’t I?
Sat on it and it burst!
Now I have a wet bed and blisters on my arse.
Grr!
Something light for you with the potential to make you feel a bit less silly and lighten your mood. #PhilomenaCunk FTW
Gotta admire the historian’s body control.
I have twins
I’ve panicked because I misread the blood pressure device. It has LEDs next to the SYS and DIA readings, they were always green. Today I wasn’t well, so I checked the blood pressure. It displayed 167/102 and both LEDs were orange - I thought the color means it’s really bad with your blood pressure, but it turned out it means it’s a bad reading, fasten the cuff better
Well, it’s worth to add, that I’ve immediately re-tried on the other hand, got similar reading. In fact I’ve just ordered a replacement cuff.
Well I now have two five Frank sized holes in the buns and have been very uncomfortable in the car today.
By hand, I presume you mean arm. Also, no mopping the floor whilst doing the measurement
Always take (at least) two BP measures. The stress of taking the test can affect the results.
Got new cuff, everything’s fine but this time I read the manual. Did you know that for better accuracy the cuff should be on the level of the heart? It’s recommended to sit at a table, rest your hand on the table so the arm is at a little angle. In my case the reading goes ~4 points lower. Not big deal of course as the reading is anyway within ~4 points accuracy according to the manufacturer.
Yes, anyone that’s read the manual of their BPM will know this. The most important thing about your body state is to be consistent - it’s changes over time, not individual readings, that are significant, so it matter less whether you’re sitting or just lying on the bed, as long as you’re doing it the same way every time.
I have one of these BP bracelet monitors after it was recommended by my GP.
It completely solves the issue of inconsistency by taking regular readings throughout the day and then averaging the data. I’ve got 4 months worth of data and can easily see the effect slight lifestyle changes have on BP e.g more sleep, water, exercise, which is encouraging.
I take BP Tablets and check almost every day.
Mine is generally between 120 to 130 over 60 to 70 plus minus five. But on occasion it drops to95 over 50.
Them are bad days.
Err, so if it’s so low why are you taking BP tablets? Or perhaps more importantly, if we assume it used to be high without the meds, why haven’t you adjusted the dosage?
Less so at home, but I’ve sometimes been off the chart when having it tested in hospital, especially pre surgery when I’m also having some blood taken. Giveaway is an elevated pulse rate - if that’s over 70-odd then the BO will also be high.
yep, that’s what I was told too. Three times in fact. And it’s surprising how quickly it goes down within these three times (if it is not truly a serious problem).
Yes, where did you put it??
I actually have a wrist one. Those on the arm just simply hurt - which hightens stress.
It’s recommended to sit for 10 minutes quietly. I also go all zen before taking a reading. It’s amazing how you can lower your pressure just by slowing down.
Yes. I have a wrist one too. If you have a chunky arm (which I do), a wrist measure is suggested. It is quite interesting to watch mine drop as I relax.
That looks quiet neat. Who does the app phone home to?
A tad too expensive still imo.
Does everyone here have blood pressure problems? LOL
No,
Mine goes up when I read posts on this forum form adults who ought to know better? LOL
(too many words?) LOL
