The reason the Ferrari analogy is flawed is simple, if I want a Ferarri and so steal my neighbours, then my neighbour is out one Ferarri. If I want a song, and make a copy of it, but there is no way I ever would have paid for it, then no-one has lost anything. The trick is the never being willing to pay for it. In reality at various price point and various points in my life most of the stuff I've downloaded I would've bought, but now that I have it downloaded for free I wouldn't anymore....
