What food should I bring from UK to Zurich

I totally agree, marmite on toast is one of lifes little pleasures. You will be happy to know you can purchase said delectable here: http://www.britshop.ch/__shop/search/marmite

You can get Parsnips in the Migros (sold in a special Old Vegtables Containers not in bulk) or a farmer market during winter Months. Ask for Pastinak.

Only a true out-of-touch Americaphobe or poorly-travelled crank thinks that Hershey's is the only American made chocolate available.

It's the one I see, and the brand that seems to be to the US what Cadburys is to the UK (though of course the latter is now newly US-owned).

I'm far from being an 'Americaphobe', but haven't had much luck with US chocolate or cheese.

That's for hogs....

Plymouth Barbican??!! Where exactly?

Wholegrain basmati rice.

cod liver oil

two tonnes of beef (or any other meat)

lemon cheesecake

decent sandwiches

cranberry juice

whey protein

M&S king strawberries

In fact it would be nice if you could bring over some decent restaurants too

Even better is this place

http://www.capn-jaspers.co.uk/

really...........I've never seen anything but tourist'y chip shops down there.

now then.. Kelly's in Looe.. that IS fish n chip.

HALF A YARD OF HOT DOG - 3-95

Half A Yard (45.7 cms) of French Bread with Two Jumbo Pork Sausages,

Just the ticket after 8 pints of scrumpy washed down with 4 Plymouth Gins..

you enjoy feeding the gulls then?

I'm getting a removal company to move my daughters bed and toilet seat etc, so dry goods will be packed if there is space.

Yes Cadburys is now part of Kraft, but the chocolate hasn't changed it's recipe. It's yum. Quaffable. Unlike that high cocoa solid stuff that everyone else in europe sells. But still has SOME cocoa solids unlike Herseys, yuck.

(way to alienate the american contingent, me)

you're moving and taking your toilet seat????????????

( p.s... yes, Yank here )

I think you've just put off a few potential buyers of your imports

Try Coop's Blutorange Sirop (blood orange). That is the closest to Robinson's cordial in my non-scientific opinion.

Coop at Sihl City (ZH) has a British section and recently included Bisto gravy granuals.

I've been missing Scones, with Jam and Clotted Cream...yum!

Does anyone know if you can buy scones here?

I've tried that blood orange one - it reminds me of Robinson's High Juice..so, good if you like that, but I find it way too strong..plus it gets funny sediment bits that sink to the bottom of the glass...

I like mine nice and artificial - no bits

PS. I've seen marmite in loads of supermarkets. Another good place to find expensive British food items to pig out on is the English bookshop in Zurich - Orelli Füssli - prawn cocktail, and salt and vinegar Walkers crisps (only in large size).

The Swiss syrups are much more concentrated than the Robinson's variety, as I found when I first came here and, having filled up with concentrate to the usual UK cordial level, nearly choked on the eye-watering sweetness.

You need less than half.
