Ive transferred up to 20K with transferwise before, has not been an issue. However I usually only use these sites if 10K or less. Anything more I go with the bank. With larger sums you get offered better rates by the banks, who are usually a safer bet esp. against potential delays with money deposits etc.
10k or 20 k or even 100k makes very little or no differencve to the rates !!
When you talk over 1mio on regular basis then they may help a little

erm, perhaps in your experience. In my case, if I am trasnferring more than 20K my client manager offers a much better rate over the phone than what is offered by default through online / e-banking. Perhaps this is just a quirk at UBS, or maybe people just dont try asking. Last week I got a rate very close to transferwise.
