Hello.
Suppose I signed a rent contract for the duration of 1 year in Bern and after 6 months decided to move out. What would be the consequences from the financial point of view? I surely will loose the deposit but will I have to pay for the rest of 6 months of the remaining rent? And any additional fines for this early termination?
Unless you find someone to take on your place (Nachmieter), then you can walk away scot-free.
you find a replacement tenant and get your deposit back and pay nothing more, simple.
Asked and answered a million times before if you use the search function.
If you copy and paste the question of this thread's subject, you will find that this particular question has been asked for the first time in this forum's history.
And I know about the possibility to find a substitute tennant but I am not interested in this option
then you'll have to pay the rent until the end of the contract, which would be a weird thing to do for the price of an advert.
Then expect to pay 6 more months rent. There is no other alternative. Either find a replacement tenant or continue paying yourself.
thanks. that's the info i was looking for
If you typed in the whole question then I’m not surprised it didn’t find anything. Just typing “leave apartment early” works much better and will give you a few threads on the subject. Because the question has been asked many, many times before.
I know a legit way of getting you out rent free, might even get you some money back... obviously, there will be a small fee - 2 months rent, 50% up front and 50% after the advice... if you are interested let me know...
Paid via Western Union to your account in Nigeria obviously
pfffttt Western Union is so 2018! It is all about cryptos... non-traceable
I thought that some contracts foresee the possibility to give a 3 months notice and leave anytime you want, provided you duly give this 3 months notice.
Isn't this possibility contemplated in Bern? (or in Switzerland?) I recall using that in Vaud, but was some years ago...
