What happens to annual payment of insurance if I leave Switzerland

Hi All,

I am considering paying the health insurance annually from now on to save 2% (~65 CHF) with Assura.

However, I was wondering, what if for some reason, I have to leave Switzerland in between.

Will I get the premium back for the extra months that I have paid already?

I currently have no plans to leave Switzerland, but would like to know to make an informed decision.

best regards,

Amit

Probably get a pro-rata refund back. Why not ask your insurance?

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I could ask them. But, I was just wondering if someone already knew the answer.

Pretty sure you get your money back, but:

if you know there's the possibility that you won't need a contract (not limited to health insurance) for the longer period, then don't commit to the long period. If you need the flexibility, chose the shorter duration. Yes, it's more expensive. But yes, because they also calculate with you staying a year.
