So I really just want to know, What is the legitimate way to watch it on my television, presumably by paying for it, and will it be available within 24 hours of when it is released on HBO in the US?

RTS one of the French Swiss TV channels shows it the day after it airs in the US. At least they have the last few years. I believe they will do it again this year. And it is in English with French subtitles.

Is legal in switzerland, the ads might not be suitable for a work laptop though.

Downloading is legal en Suisse and there are plenty of sites to download content, including GoT in a variety of quality - even 4K
According to 20minutes today, RTS will show it at exactly the same time as the US, ie. at 3am.
As others have said, downloading is perfectly legal here. Showrss.info isn't bad, but on a work laptop wouldn't be ideal...
