I'm on B permit and have been working here for about a year. I used to pay a pretty high AHV, ALV and quellensteuer. But now suddenly I see more deductions in my salary with UVG and KTG.
Can someone please help me with what is this and why I'm paying for it suddenly and if it's not compulsory how can I stop it?

KTG=KrankenTagGeld (Short-Term Disability). This is offered by your employer and you are probably making a contribution towards it. If you become ill, it will pay a percentage of your wages for often up to two years. You probably can't opt out of it.
This is a Wiki explanation of UVG (German):
Mandatory accident insurance. Covers any accident on work if you work 8h or less per week. Covers also accidents off work when you work more than 8h per week. Insurance provider is a lot of times SUVA (mandatory insurance provider for some high risk professions) or a private entity.
KTG: Kranken Tag Geld / Sick Day Money. Insurance that pays you if you are sick for a prolonged period. There may be a cool off period and a maximum days off pay depending how long you have been part of the company. AFAIK not mandatory but you will hardly find a better deal on the free market.
