What music are you listening to now?

“Gemini, make me an interpretation of the Goldberg variations by Keith Jarrett. Don’t forget the humming!”

Cheers. :musical_notes:

I’ll do the same, actually, at least this morning until the weather clears up and we can hopefully go for a bicycle tour across the island in the afternoon.

When I have a huge pile of ironing I like listening to classical Spanish guitar. I have a CD I bought in the shop at the Prado Gallery in Madrid way back in 2003, OH transferred it to my iPad and I listen to it with my Airpods in. It’s played on a guitar that dates back to 1820 and it makes doing the ironing a much nicer and less boring chore.

Warmer days, warmer music, dirtier sound. Album released on May 29 too

A bit sad, I will be dragged to ballet while these guys play in Lausanne haha, One day before, they play in the St. Gallen Open Air.

When I’m ironing I blast heavy metal, my younger daughter even calls it “ironing music” - of course it’s ironing, iron is a metal

Ha ha. love it, heavy metal ironing.

Maybe I’ll go back to my teens and try The Sex Pistols. ironing sometimes makes me feel Pretty Vacant anyway

Hah, I love it, I also love ironing - wife is happy as she hates it!

After a 1.5-hour long bender of a mishmash of 70-80s pop +/- rock +/- soul my true colours came to the surface and demanded some oxygen:

That’s a bit special. May is ask how you got there? People i know got there via skating, BMX, and similar active stuff accesible to the young. Then, everyone took a different path in life, but there was something in common at some point.

Maggot brain from Funkadellic, and my old go to: Moondog. Managed to meet the man himself in Frankfurt.

Hmm been listening to this sort of music since the early 90s! Don’t know how I got there, it just clicked with me. Classic and jazz were played at home, and the very occasional late 60s/early 70s rock like Rolling Stones, Doors - a lot of Doors. I was listening to Michael Jackson quite a lot, and liking it (still do) until one day a friend gave me an Iron Maiden tape (Fear of the Dark) and a Black Sabbath tape (Heaven and Hell) and since then that’s been my sound.

I’ve had an earworm for 3 days, it’s Love Is The Drug by Roxy Music.

I just went down a rabbit hole to a music I’ve loved since 1980.

@Refugee may understand…

I am not up to speed with this genre to be honest, though Hadjidakis wrote cross genre. It’s interesting, mixing baroque with Asia Minor elements. Too much music, too little time to explore it!

IMHO, the 15 Vespers is his best work. Imagine my amusement when, in the naughty 90s, I heard it blaring from a Greek restaurant in Palm Springs.

Going to have to listen to it then!

Music I hate:
Techno
Heavy metal
Opera
The Bee Gees

That’s funny because there’s practically no way to listen to heavy metal or opera unless you purposely search for it. You won’t enter a shop and they have opera as ambient music. “Techno” is a bit more common. It may be used in sports events, as needle-drop in movies or music in bars. Anyway, it’s rarely pushed down my throat to develop a strong reaction.

Bee Gees? I feel sorry if one in your family likes them and there’s no way to escape.

Back to music, it’s possible to escape to a place where the apartment is not at 29°C

I’ll agree with you on everything except opera. My all-time hero…I’ll blast this until the speakers are almost dead. And cry with emotion. All’alba vincero!!!

Ahhhh DIO times.

Just curious, in the last 10 years “Greece” and “stoner rock” have become inseparable. I just checked and 1000mods is headlining the Saturday of the Up in Smoke festival in Basel this year. So, what’s up with Greece?

I’d rather listen to people playing actual instruments. Here’s John Cipollina (RIP) at his best. Did the lightshow once for them when I was in high school.
