What's better to find a job-Local accounting dipl.(comptable, not a brevet) or ACCA?

Hello,

I would like to hear your opinion.

I haven't been working for almost 7 years (raised children), I have never worked in Switzerland.

Before I worked mostly in audit (but, as I said not in Switzerland).

During the time I stayed at home I learned French, I did a management accounting certification (cma), finished my master diploma, so was always thinking to start working again..

I have been looking for a job, but without success..

I have a B permit.

Now I am deciding whether to start a course for a 'Comptable' or not. It takes 10-12 months.. The cost is not negligible. (more than 5000chf).

Even though I speak French, I do not have an accounting vocabulary, so it would be mostly challenging from this aspect.

On the other hand I could do an ACCA, I would have some exam exemptions (7 I believe), so in theory I could finish it in a bit more than a year..

What do you think it would be more valuable to find a job ?

Not to forget, I am not soo young anymore.

Thank you

Hi, can you tell me if you know is ACCA desirable in CH ? When I look for jobs in CH here and there I see ACCA.

Hello,

I am about in a similar situation of choosing between ACCA and local brevet/diploma federal. Which is more useful for finding a job in Switzerland? If you don’t mind could you please share your decision and the subsequent result?

Many thanks in advance

In the international firms I worked at ACCA was useful, but I don’t know how it is for the local Swiss firms.
