What's the best medicine for toothache?

What's the best medicine for toothache here in Suisse?

The dentist?

Cloves, string, doorhandle.

welll in the 1960s cocaine..... , or crush up an Asprin and rub into your gums .....or get drunk !!

failing that go see a swiss dentist , the best in the world without a doubt but the most expensive ..

personally i fly to england and get it done cheaper .

good luck

Some "ideas" in this thread too:

Toothache

Clove oil and paracetomol might work in the interim.

Oil of cloves works best. Get some tonight at the pharmacy and make a dentist appointment tomorrow...

rinsing mouth with infusion of fig leaves is very efficient. But since fig leaves are not handy on these latitudes, cloves or dentist should help.

Clove Oil should do the trick , not sure if you can get it here but i have seen it in Germany.

back when i had my wisdom teeth, clove oil soothed the pain a good bit.. none the less i hate the smell and taste of it..yuk.. but helps

Orajel does also the trick..but these are only softening the pain..it won't fix it.

Go to the dentist asap.. remember, fixing it is not as painful as pulling the tooth or getting a root canal treatment.

The price of the imminent dentistry - the palpitations, the hyperventilation and the racing pulse, all in anticipation of the impending major lightening and contractions in the area of your wallet/purse, will take your mind right off the toothache

Last time, I took Ibuprofen until I could get to the dentist the next morning. Even able to sleep some hours. But it depends on the cause of the pain... deep root inflamation is worse than a tooth hole just touching the nerv.

Frankly, with a toothache, I do not ask for prices, I just let them do the job and accept my faith.

If it's just a gum thing then a baby teething gel will help because it numbs the area with a local anaesthetic (probably wouldn't work for something deeper like a nerve/root problem). There's one called Osa here I think.... in the UK I would have said bongela.

Set the alarm clock and get the first bus to Annecy.

It depends on the cause of the toothache.

I had a painful tooth and the dentist told me I needed root canal surgery (CHF2000+?). I was not convinced. I know dentists, doctors, police, etc all look younger as I get older but I was sure she'd just nipped out of Kantonschule in her lunch break.

So I got a second opinion. The second dentist recommended a much cheaper solution. Brushing once a week with Elmex gelée and using Elmex sensitive plus mouthwash cured it for me.

That happened to me too. Tooth pain (sensitivity) when you drink something cold is usually down to the protective enamel wearing away and elmex sensitive worked brilliantly.

I've also had tooth pain because of an abscess -pain when drinking hot drinks and eating sugary food. In this case I needed ibuprofen and antibiotics but eventually ( a few years later) needed to have a new filling as the abscess kept re occuring.

Chewing Cloves does helps sometimes.

Or chewing coca.

Try reading this article, it may help.
