The price of the imminent dentistry - the palpitations, the hyperventilation and the racing pulse, all in anticipation of the impending major lightening and contractions in the area of your wallet/purse, will take your mind right off the toothache
Last time, I took Ibuprofen until I could get to the dentist the next morning. Even able to sleep some hours. But it depends on the cause of the pain... deep root inflamation is worse than a tooth hole just touching the nerv.
Frankly, with a toothache, I do not ask for prices, I just let them do the job and accept my faith.
If it's just a gum thing then a baby teething gel will help because it numbs the area with a local anaesthetic (probably wouldn't work for something deeper like a nerve/root problem). There's one called Osa here I think.... in the UK I would have said bongela.
I had a painful tooth and the dentist told me I needed root canal surgery (CHF2000+?). I was not convinced. I know dentists, doctors, police, etc all look younger as I get older but I was sure she'd just nipped out of Kantonschule in her lunch break.
So I got a second opinion. The second dentist recommended a much cheaper solution. Brushing once a week with Elmex geleĢe and using Elmex sensitive plus mouthwash cured it for me.
That happened to me too. Tooth pain (sensitivity) when you drink something cold is usually down to the protective enamel wearing away and elmex sensitive worked brilliantly.
I've also had tooth pain because of an abscess -pain when drinking hot drinks and eating sugary food. In this case I needed ibuprofen and antibiotics but eventually ( a few years later) needed to have a new filling as the abscess kept re occuring.
