wheat free Bread in CH?

Hi All

We recently moved back from the US and are missing a kind of bread we ate there:

Basically, it was a bread without wheat, had to always be in the freezer.

Tried googling a lil bit WeizenFrei and the only thing I found was this wrap in coop:

Any ideas where else could I get that kind of bread?

Thanks!

Hi, you may take a look at Russian shops if there are any nearby. We have different kinds of dark rye bread.

Bake your own.

Migros and Coop sell buckwheat flour (Buchweizenmehl) and spelt flour (Dinkelmehl) as well as yeast .

um....

...And a fyi regarding gluten and grain sprouting here:

For wheat-free, go for Roggenbrot (Rye), Dinkel (Spelt), Emmer (emmer wheat).

There is also the possibility of buying the "Graham" bread - it has wheat as well, but is high in protein.

Most of what is called Roggenbrot in Switzerland contains a lot of wheat to keep the stuff together (read: gluten). Read the ingredients.

Hi,

I know basically everything about this stuff (partner does not eat wheat).

So i would recommend to visit:

- ALNATURA shop in Zurich (close to Globus in town). They bake themselves and can have it even without yeast (hefe) on soda, ferment etc.

- MIGROS and COOP sell pumpernickel bread which is made of water, slat and rye flour, i.e. completely safe. MIGROS sometimes have even their own bakes rye bread (roggenbrot) as well, but you have to be lucky to find it, as not any Mirgros have it (the on in HB lucky to have).

- Any bio-shops would have it. There is EGLI in HB (downstairs you can eve ask for help, they will explain which is having what). Or Muller on Rennweg stress in town.

Whether you would like to have a tour with me, i would not mind.

Would you have any address for a russian shops in ZH, i never seen any!

thanks.

I remember years ago...Ojas bread...perhaps they still have it...
