When housing is easy in Zurich ?

Hello EF;

I have been admitted to the ETH Zurich master programme ( MEST - Energy Science and Technology ). And I will be in Zurich at September.2011. One of my friends say that in Zurich and Lausanne in September finding room or dormitory are more easy because the interns leave the Switzerland at September. And only students of UZH and ETH stay in Zurich starting from September. Is that right?

Although I have searched a room for a month, I could not find any room. I apply Woko and studentenheim-vinzenz however they did not give any positive response. Can you give me any alternatives to accommodate a furnished room?

Hi

I moved to Zürich as a student in September last year and it was very difficult to find a flat. I was rushed to find a place and ended up using an apartment finding service. ( http://www.mata-dienst.ch/indexe.html )

They found me a place that works and is relatively inexpensive. There is a 75% commision fee, but it was easier than looking by myself.

ETH also has its own apartment hunting tool here , but you need your student email up and running to use it.

Today ,I also rejected Hostel Maximilianeum and Studentenhaus-Vinzens,however they add me in their waiting list They said "We have no vacanciens"..
