There's a cheap butcher by the albisriederplatz stop that has good ribs.

Looks like their's 2 near there - Hornecker(Yellow sign, right on Albisriederplatz) and Kilo-Metzg(Red and White sign, about 20 meters down Badenerstrasse).
Do you know which one it is? And just to be sure, it is Beef Ribs, not Pork?
You could try the Butchers located at the trade market. It is just outside Central Zurich but I understand that the selection/price is very good, and I think they deliver.

My husband visited the butcher last week for some short ribs and they told him they are illegal to provide in Switzerland ... WTF? Does anybody know what that's about? (I have sourced some from Germany before)
I am just going to pick 24 short ribs for a dinner I organise. I am getting them at Metzg, Langstrasse 31, CH–8004 Zürich. I have to order them few days in advance, write them an email, it is on their webpage .
They have meat from small local farmers and it is a great shop / restaurant.
I've bought beef short ribs from the local butcher - like Nejc, I just order them ahead of time.
Your butcher's illegal comment confused me, so I did a quick google. I couldn't find anything about the legality of short ribs, but I did find the first hit was that one can buy them at Farmy:

If food items are difficult to get here, it's usually because the locals don't eat much of it.

I highly recommend that farm - their Angus is from a a farm in Germany, but their local Highland Cattle is amazing.
Anyone knows where i can get a lamb’s head? Im going to be in Geneva for easter and it would be nice to have a taste of home.
