Where can I buy condensed milk?

Hi there, can anyone help me find condensed milk? I'm sure its out there somewhere.....If it is, please can you also let me know where to look in the shelving system.

thanks

I don't remember if it was Migros or Coop, but it usually sits on an uncooled shelf in blue aluminium tubes. Sometimes also in tins.

Migros for sure and I think also Coop. Migros has it in blue tube or blue can.

Asking a shop assistant for help in finding something is usually an effective way to locate a product.

Migros do sell it, look for Kondens Milch - hey, I'm finally speaking German!

Thanks a mil - you have saved Christmas.

it looks like this

Coop Kondensmilch gezuckert Tube 250g Cost - 2,40

Thanks for the picture, g and price - if you have a day job/other than this. Your boss must love you:-)

I have used Stalden (caramel) for banoffee pie and worked perfectly

Most Indian/Asian supermarkets sell Nestlé condensed milk. Indians make sweet things from and put it in tea as a sweetener. If you're Scottish like me you'd need it if you make tablet.

I get mine at the Asian shops as well. Indians use it for cooking and Vietnamese use it for their coffee.

The OP is just not clear.

What kind of condensed milk? the sweetened stuff, thick like the one sold in tubes or tins in Switzerland. Or the Carnation type one, more runny, sold in tins in the UK? Two very different kind of products.

Migros sells both sweetened and unsweetened. I‘ve only see sweetened in Coop. There‘s also evaporated milk, whatever that is.

Evaporated milk is unsweetened condensed milk. I think it’s the one with blue dots in Migros and the sweetened variety has the red dots. (Or vice versa).

Having said that this thread was revived by a newbie and I doubt if the OP is actually still looking for it since they posted the question in 2007.

You’re correct about the dots. I had a can of unsweetened and it has blue dots.
