Hai! I'm not yet at Zurich. I'm going to be living there as a student at ETH. I have an acoustic guitar that I got pretty cheap(lets say around 80 euros) it sound pretty good. problem is I will be travelling from Chennai,India.I am not sure if ill be able to bring it all the way here without breaking!
So I'd like to know the price of good guitars(i'm a beginner)(acoustic) so I need a shop that won't dump poor quality guitars on me. Something reliable. Not too expensive, I'm a student .
I'd also like to know if there are any good teachers over there?
I'm going to be living at Bachelerstrasse.
Thank you!
Loads of brand new guitars to choose from in either Jecklin or Musikhug.
Either that, if you know your stuff, check out the second hands on the EF for sale section or ricardo (swiss equivalent of ebay).
If you were not caring about quality go to Conrad in Dietlikon
http://www.conrad.ch/ce/de/product/3...-Groesse-Natur
Promusig at Sihlfeldstrasse 138 has some affordable quality guitars

Or Gitarren Total
http://www.gitarrentotal.ch/ Or Central Music http://www.centralmusic.ch/
The guys at Gitarren Total definitely have people who speak English, but I don't know about Cebtrak, although I suspect so.
Or you can buy mine for 5000 Francs (Hey, don't laugh! Switzerland is expensive!)
its best to buy it online from
www.thomann.de as this is easily your cheapest and best value option
promusig is easily the best value and have the most pleasant bunch of sales guys
http://www.gitarrentotal.ch/ - great stock but it is definitely at the expensive end, and they are selling some stuff almost 50% higher than online. The staff are knowledgeable and nice. you will be lucky to find guitars for less than chf 500 in there
http://www.centralmusic.ch/ - good store but mainly yamahas which you can buy online cheaper. I bought my guitar from this shop. good location, staff are OK
Thanks a lot guys.Any particular popular brand in swiss?
Hey FilleParisienne24,
If you didn't find anything yet you could give a try here: http://www.yeahmansguitars.com/ . There are both vintage and used guitars, maybe you can find something interesting. Good luck.
