Hi there,

You can buy Tahini in most Big Migros and big Coop`s ! I buy it from my local Coop in our Village, so I bet they will have it in any Coop city in Zurich. Look in the section where they have most of the international goodies (Asian, Mexican and Idian food aisle).

I buy mine from Lin Hua (Schaffhauserstrasse 269, 8057 Zürich) or the New Asia Market (Feldstrasse 24, 8004 Zürich) if I'm on that side of town. Always makes great hummus!

Thanks everyone... will check out a bigger Coop and if I can't get it there I'll have fun exploring the other suggestions in and around Zurich...

I believe you can buy it in Josefstrasse (behind the HB), on a turkish store. Unfortunately I don't remember its name, but it is just beside Memomen hairstyle.

In Josefstr. is Egemarkt. They are open even on Sundays (enter through the restaurant next to)

Tatli (changed name but is just next to Migros and Denner) at Schwamendingerplatz should have the best price.

Halk Pazari in Tramstr., Sternen Oerlikon

etc. But if buying from one of these turkish markets I would recommend the brand "Koska"

You can also use a very small amount of peanut butter as a tahini substitute.

I would advise against but everybody has own taste

When I lived in Zurich, I often shopped at Koscher City and they had it - along with other goodies I couldn't find anywhere else in the city

It's very simple to make it yourself

I prefer to make just a little amount every time before making hummus

Tahini can be bought at pretty much any store, Migros and Coop have it.

Coop has it. At least the larger ones.
