Laptop are quite cheap at Media Mart in and around Zurich oe Swiss

The Post office are doing a good deal on Laptops at present 699 CHF

not a bad spec .

By the just in case I repair Desktops and upgrade laptops as well

Could anyone suggest a website/store to buy a new laptop without an OS installed, to save a bit on the price.

I have been checking the websites of retailers like Digitec, Steg Computer and so far havent been able to find anything without Windows already installed.

Try conforama, they have a good sale going on, we bought a pac bell for 499 , and it had windos 7 installed, looks and feels great.

it is Intel processor (i3 )

I am thinking of buying a computer but am a little worried about how the warranty would work as I will likely only be in Switzerland another 6 months to a year. For instance, what would happen if I bought a laptop in Switzerland but was living abroad when it broke? Any wisdom is much appreciated!

you have to check if your warranty is international (it is in most of the cases).

however onsite support may not be valid..

you have to take it to their service center.
