Am I missing something? I am pretty sure they can be used in either place, with the only issue being the plug. But I admit to not being TV savvy, so I'm asking you guys - where would you buy an average TV - Switzerland or the UK?
I'm selling my CRT TV here in Switzerland, and we'll need a new tv in the UK. I've been looking through ads in the UK, and it seems just a decent flat panel between 27" and 36" is pretty expensive there, but not quite as expensive here.
for use with a set-top box - wherever you like.
how are you comparing prices CH/UK and are you comparing like-to-like?
www.ciao.co.uk seems to compare prices.... what about www.froogle.co.uk ?
I bought mine in the UK just before moving here, saved about 200£ on CH price - same telly
Yes, I'll be getting one of those recording devices with freeview built in. I just did a casual comparison, seeing a tv advertised here for about 400 francs and remembering I'd seen similar sized ones advertised in the UK for about £300. I didn't compare quality and features - but it got me thinking. I'll check both of those sites, get the best prices on what I'm looking for and then find similar/same here and see what the result is.
Ah ha...good to know! Thank you!
we just bought a samsung led tv here, but it was cheaper in the uk, but not by enough to make it worthwhile buying there and bringing it over.
which one you looking at that is cheaper here???
Oh, I wasn't looking with specifics, it was a casual glance as I brought in today's post and saw the Media Markt and Saturn ads...
There are so many good deals on TVs in the UK at present as all the retailers seem to have a new offer weekly. A friend bought one in Aldi last week and it has a 3 year guarantee!
Check out Currys , Comet etc and don't forget John Lewis as they offer good deals usually with the 3 year cover thrown in.
