got a kindle, got the kindle app, kindle desktop program and all that.
had a nook before that
and I still prefer to be mostly electronics-free during the evenings, after 11+h in front of a computer.
last time I checked you had to convert your amazon.com account into an amazon.de account if you wanted to use the amazon.de site, and it was impossible to have both at the same time - has that changed?
And thank you for the recommendations Belgianmum!
JagWaugh maybe I need to visit them again. if it has changed, thank you. I kind of miss the old 3-storeys shop, and the underground Payot, and the one in Niederdorf, and... sigh. Ordering books online just isn't the same as having the real stuff.
You don't have to convert your account, but you have to use .de if you want e-books for a kindle. Amazon knows my kindle is in CH now, so even if I log on to the .com site I can't order kindle books there. I have to use .de. But as Belgianmum says, I use the same login and password.
I have amazon uk account and books They send to switzerland. I just checked it a moment ago. On amazon account just go to Settings and change country to uk and order your books.
I have purchased some books from https://www.bookdepository.com/ . They have decent prices and have a wide range of different types of books. Maybe they have what you are looking for.
Hi 3wishes, that's strange. I bought my kindle from amazon.de, but I registered it with Amazon.com. I buy all my ebooks from there. Did you register the kindle with .de?
but as you say the same amazon login works at all amazon locations. I have ordered physical goods from .de, .fr. co.uk and .com.
If you are ever in Basel, Bider & Tanner has a nice English selection and they will order any book you would like. Not quite at Amazon prices...but at least you are supporting a local business.
