What's it with these "brown-product" issues on the EF! It's brown on package so you can see it
Round here the larger Migros stock it but not the COOP even the big one. I think it was even that brand but not too sure on that. Our local Aldi had it too but not sure if it's a permenant feature as some things seem to come and go there.

I absolutely agree. We buy brown bread, brown rice and use brown sugar, which was more less a grotesque on the EF hence a reference and a pun intended!

Both coop and migros sell short-grain brown rice.
For long-grain brown rice, I have only found it at the health store (ie. Mueller).

hi all- bringing up an old thread as I can't seem to find brown rice in large quantity in Zurich.
I've looked at the larger migros, coop, as well as a number of health / bio shops in Seefeld and near Zurich HB. I've also been out Schlieren to the very large migros/coop, aldi/lidi, and even Aligro and nothing!
I'm not looking for black rice btw (I saw some of this at Aligro) I'm looking for asian brown rice. I used to get this: http://www.hmart.com/shopnow/shopnow...p=761898667415 if there is anything similar, i would really appreciate it!
I'm not looking for basmati or any other rice variant, needs to be asian rice similar to korean/Japanese rice. Thank you!
Go to the Asian food shops around Langstrasse / Josephstrasse.
New Asia Market near Bezirksgebaude tram stop and Lian Hua close by Bahnhof Wiedikon sell larger sized bags of different types of Asian rice (meaning, you can buy at least 5 kg and 10kg. Haven't tried to look for larger bags because I can't carry it ) I haven't searched for brown rice though as I buy Basmati rice - but its worth a try =)
I saw some generic brand brown rice in a center display at the Migros in the Glatt shopping center today.
Yumi Hana (the Korean shop) sells premium Korean brown rice. It's very expensive, but very good!
How about taking any rice packet and soaking it in some brown paint. The effect should be similar. Just an idea ...
You can buy Uncle Ben's brand "Vollreis" in Coop. Which is the same as the brown rice I am used to from Amurrica.
vollreis is not the volkonreis? I am not sure this is the same as brown rice
