I need to buy some flowers in Basel tomorrow morning for a photography project. I'm looking for white flowers such as lilies, chrysanthemums or something similar I haven't thought about. I'm not wanting to buy a bouquet but individual flowers. Can anyone tell where a good place to buy them in Basel city centre would be? I know about the flower stall in the market outside of Globus but no-where else.
OAPs tend to have the best gardens.
Night time is best to make a raid.
Tulips seem to be popular.
I could have looked in the phone book myself, I would really like a personal recommendation of somewhere since it is going to be horrible weather tomorrow & I don't want to be traipsing around in the rain going to shops with a rubbish selection. Thanks anyway.
Try the Migros in Claraplatz. They have a very big section.
Farmer's market at Marktplatz. They have a good range as well as some rather unusual flowers which are sold by the stem.
At the corner across from the 603/604 bus stop at Schifflande, there is a florist who sells white lillies - at Swiss prices.
Hope this helps.
Depends what you want. The Migros florist at Schifflande, mentioned above is nice.
If you want posh then the florist near Bankverein on Elisbethanstrasse (more or less next door to Bider and Tanner is good, but not cheap.
Hello I agree with the Migros Claraplatz recommendation. I have used them and was happy with them. The flower shop is the ground floor, same level as the take away food section.
We get big white lilies at barfi. There is a flower lady by the Samson & Delilah statue. About 6.50 for a big stem
There is a Migros florist in the SBB Bahnhof
Thanks to all of you for your suggestions. I'm about to venture out into the rain to see what I can find.
The posh place won, it was the only florist selling anything near to what I was looking for. The price was not nearly as bad as I was expecting either. Thanks.
