Where to buy Tea in Zürich?

Any recommendations where to buy high quality tea in Zürich, in particular green tea, white tea and yasmin tea?

Martin

don't know Zurich that well, but failing all else you can always try Globus, methinks their selection isn't too bad.

You can try the following shops:

my favourite:

Teehaus Wühre R. Knabenhans

Wühre 15, 8001 Zürich

There used to be a Tea Shop in Puls5, in Kreis 5, but I am not sure if it is still there. It had a large variety of loose tea. Will try and walk by this week.

There is an awesome one, Im not sure what it's called or exactly where it is

HOWEVER - walk along the Schipfe along the Limmat between Rudolf Brun Brukke and Rathaus Brukke and you'll see it - that's only a 5 minute exploratory. They have a very extensive tea collection, from Brazil to Japan.

There's TeeGschwendner on Pelikanstrasse and another tea shop Schwarzenbach on the Muenstergasse.

If you like high quality green tea, I recommend to try tea from Seiundo.

Go to the Delicatessa (basement) things of Globus, Jelmoli and Coop St Annahof and Migros Löwenstrasse, or go to one of the many Indian grocery shops. They are not just cheaper then the above-mentioned specialty shops but also offer quite an interesting variety of teas. You however might check the shops right around you. In case of places like Migros and Coop and Spar it depends on the Filialleiter. So that the choice may be minimal or maximal. The same of course applies to smaller shops right around you.

Schwarzenbach of course is a top address but a bit on the expensive side !

A different aspect is whether you MIX different teas as I do. In such a case, the Turkish shops are interesting as they offer fairly strong but a bit boring teas. But good in order to balance out Jasmine tea, similar in fact to "Russian Caravan Tea".

If I'm not completely wrong, this must be:

Teehaus Wühre

R. Knabenhans

Wühre 15, 8001 Zürich

Yes! That's it exactly - I've been there a few times in fact - the display in the window has a map and loads of pots of tea and bits of string linking the tea to the place on the map that it's from. Pretty cool.

I went to Teehaus Wühre yesterday and bought white tea. The shop owner was charming and the choice in general looked impressive. The white tea offer, however, was disappointing, only common Pai Mu Tan in standard and organic flavor was available. At the least the pricing was reasonable with CHF 9.50/100 g for the standard flavor, the organic one was about twice the price.

Where can i buy flower Tea balls in Zurich? Does anybody know of a shop other than Globus? They don't seem to have any in stock, or they misunderstood my sentence.. Thanks!

I think I saw some in the Tea shop behind hotel Storchen, just next to the limmat.

I confirm that Teehaus Wühre R. Knabenhans is a wonderfull address for tea!

Worth to note: you can also find lovely and originial tea service in that shop, with finest porcelain. And not that expensive.

This is the very same Teehaus Wühre which has been recommended so many here. I also shop for my tea there - the owner is very friendly, speaks excellent English, and is quite happy to help you find a tea that suits your tastes.

I also have had good experiences with the tea shop in Rapperswil's oldtown - does anyone remember its name?

Hello

I have not visited this shop myself, but a friend said it was a great place to buy fine teas and coffees (and other goodies) in Zurich:

Looks like they have a good selection of tea

you can also buy some good Darjeeling online

I am very disappointed that Coop no longer has their collection of loose teas. They only have the ones they pre-bag now. They used to have 2 very lovely rose teas. With fall around the corner, I'm going to have to go search it out from somewhere else.

Anyone know if the Tea shop on Pelikanstr. is any good?

hello!

do you know of any tea shop that might sell aveda tea?
