Where to buy - Window cleaning squeegee?

Hi

Does anyone know where I can get a good quality window cleaning squeegee in the Zurich area?

(I know about those ultra-expensive Ha-Ra ones with the blue foam pad but don't want another one).

Thanks!

(Did anyone else have eggs thrown at their windows on Halloween )

well I'd start with just normal warm water and some cloth to clean the eggs off your windows

This happened to us a couple of years back. This year we closed the shutters, disconnected the doorbell and pretended not to be home. I am not a grumpy old cow, I had a < 2 week old baby and didn't want to have to keep answering the front door.

BTW Lieferheit window squeegees are in every Manor store. There are ones with a built in spray, and ones with an attachment to reach up high.

Actually, we did clean off the eggs straight away but it did make me think that we need a new squeegee.

We want clean windows without streaking (I suppose we ought to wear our cothers next time we clean them).

I hate to think what window cleaners cost here in Switzerland.

Thanks Maire. We'll try Manor.

For streak free windows you need to wipe the squeegee after every scrape with a wet cloth. For perfect windows, buffing them afterwards with a microfaser cloth works well. You can get these in Migros and they are yellow and can be washed in the washing machine.

Window cleaners cost a small fortune here. You see advertisements every spring for deals for 3 windows for around CHF 120. Counting my windows, my place would cost over CHF 1200. Shutters are extra.

Ikea 1.99fr.

and use vinegar to clean your windows.

That's exactly what I don't want - the rubber blade on these isn't straight at all - and the blade's not long enough for big windows.

Thanks for the reply though.

Can you pick me up some dishwasher tablets whilst you are there?

If the squeegee's okay, and the technique 's okay then you shouldn't need to do anything afterwards.

When I was a kid I spent a summer cleaning windows including those massive ones at car showrooms.

I do realise that I have started the saddest thread of the day. I reckon I'll be asking for brown sugar next...

What did you use for cleaning fluid? I use dish washing liquid. Perhaps that's the reason I need to. What do you recommend?

Dish washing liquid.

If you don't clean them regularly them a splash of vinegar in there as well will help remove the limescale.

If you can get from the top left of the window to the bottom right without taking the squeegee off the pane then you don't need to wipe.
