Where to donate things before moving

We are moving back to the USA in 2019. There are some things that aren’t worth taking back with us, such as old towels and bedding. In my opinion, they aren’t in good enough shape to be donated to a Brocki. In the US, I would have stopped by the Humane Society to donate them to be used as bedding for the animals. Is there such a thing here?

We will also be getting rid of three Schranks. We will try to sell them on here once we are closer to the moving day. In case they don’t sell right away, does anyone know of a charity that accepts large pieces of furniture? Ur local Brocki only accepts smaller items.

Any other ideas of places to donate odds and ends? We live in the Zürcher Oberland.

Some Tierheime have need of bedding. Your best bet would be to simply call around the Tierheime in traveling distance to you, see if any can use your things.

Are you willing to travel into the city? If so, Tierheim Surber lists towels as one of the items needed on their 'Sachspende' list.

My Heffalump came from them, hence they spring to mind. Good people, worth supporting. As are so many other animal welfare groups, of course.
