I'm really looking for something that needs internal renovation only , bathroom kitchen - heating,flooring etc - up to around 500K
Although I've seen a few renovation projects on homegate immoscout etc does anyone know a resource , net or otherwise on where to find a house/apartment renovation project.
When you say a renovation project, do you simply mean that you want to buy property which requires some renovation and you are prepared to organise the work yourself or do you mean that you want to buy a "project" where there is an property together with plans for improving it and maybe contracts for carrying out the work ?
I personally would simply look for an older property and either organise the works myself, or delegate that to an architect or a general contractor.

Thats what I mean plus I don't just mean organise it - I mean do it - Ive fitted bathrooms and kitchens before. but I dont want be knocking down wallls or something that requires a structural engineer etc
I don't think there is a separate marketplace for such properties. You'll see property adverts on say immoscout.ch , anibis.ch etc. and in the description you may find a hint like "renovationsbedarf"
Just one example where "renovationsbedarf" is explicitly declared :

Your request if very vague- do you mean anywhere, or in your area- as per your location on EF?
Do you mean in an area where prices are going up, are stable, or in a bubble ready to burst?

500k will get you a garden shed in zurich, on the itallian side in the mountains it'll get you (quite literally) a hotel
but if you're going to be a knob no one will help you
well I never called anyone a knob - but the OP as it says is looking for 'resources' to find such places not a specific place in a specific location and I am well aware of the pricing structure here but thanks anyway
Since you are not looking in a specific region/community - are you by chance thinking of doing this with an eye to selling the property once renovated?
If so, do make sure you understand the tax penalty levied when one sells in the first few years. This varies by canton. (As do all things.)
(In my area, such properties are rarely advertised. One gets to know 'the people in the know' around town, keeping ears open for gossip, discretely asking to be kept in mind if someone hears something. The process may take years. Or decades.)
I thought tax was only due on a 2nd property. The idea was to live in it not speculate. What would be the average kind of tiome before taz was not due
It varies by canton - there really isn't an average.
But speaking very broadly, in many cantons if you sell in the first five years you will feel some pain*. You really need to research the canton you are thinking of buying in and factor that into your plans.
There is also a possibility to roll the CG from one primary residence into another primary residence property, but you have to be a tad careful - again, research what is allowed in the canton.
* This assumes a profit in the first place. Be aware that's not a given, especially considering renovation costs. Again, make sure you understand the local market.
