Where to find logo design? And how much?

Does anyone know how much a logo costs in Switzerland?

I don't want to get ripped off but I do want something good quality - so I need to know what's reasonable.

I know I could look abroad but I want something that resonates with the Swiss market.

Anyone had a personal experience and can recommend a good company/designer?

Thanks!

The cost will be from 200.00 up to 200,000.00 and possibly more. Of course, it depends on what needs designing and for what (and how many) applications.

This one was only £400k

Honesty, go get iterations of logos though Fiverr.com for very cheap, and when you get close to something you like, have it refined by someone else more expensive, if necessary.

Suggest 99designs.com , lots of flexibility and options

It will reroute you to the Swiss website automatically but can you can specify European or Swiss designer if you like. Cost will be more than Fivrr type options but I believe different level of artists and professionalism involved. Realistic price is between 300 to 600 SFr by the time design is refined and set into different layouts and colourings. If after starting you feel you made wrong designer choice, don't try to fix, better to restart with new designer. Also read the fine print on all agreements, you want to own and control all trademarks and artwork outright even if costs a bit more. Good luck!

Another vote for 99 Designs. A business I was involved in a year or two back used them and we were happy with the process and result. Cost 350 CHF, but there are different plans. You create a brief and then wait. We had about 20 designers pitching, most of whom submitted several ideas. Then you narrow down to 6 people and ask them to resubmit, adding suggestions as you go.

Definitely DON'T insist on Swiss or European designers! The great majority of designs we had were from Asia, where the fee is really worth fighting for. The money isn’t enough for most Europeans to spend more than a couple of hours on.

The process is interesting as it forces you to think hard about your business image and values.

Depends on what you want.

A former colleague of mine - a very talented professional - has his own business and designed a very nice logo for my small business years ago. I was happy with the result and the price. highly recommend.

Another one for 99designs. Tim Ferris has repeatedly recommended them and is running some sort of promo and although I have not used them personally, it looks like a pretty efficient way of getting something excellent.

I recommend 99 Designs too.

My husband is a freelance app developer and I helped him with icon design a while ago. Design briefing has to be very clear and I actually provided a rough sketch which made the process easier.

Good luck!

I used Laura Cohen. You can see the prices here.

Laura lives in Germany but used to live in Zurich so she knows the Swiss market. It was easy to communicate in English via Skype. She can also work on whole graphics packages and websites, photography to boot.

Another vote here for fiverr or 99designs.

The option I ended up using was purchasing a pre-made logo or a template. I guess this depends on the size of your business. I am pretty fussy and I found something I liked, bought it for $35 US and changed the text and one of the colours.

IN terms of what works with the Swiss market I would ask Swiss friends rather than feel limited to only using someone in Switzerland.

Depending on what you’re offering knowledge of Swiss market might not be relevant. A friend got his corporate identity & branding done by an agency in Cape Town (same time zone) and a third of the cost of Swiss designers. He’s always asked where his logo was designed...

Your brief needs to be pretty tight and formulated for 99Designs et al.

I would recommend 99designs or the upwork.

If you use the 99designs I would recommend you to create a contest - you will have more submissions.

Also don't waste money on the additional packages like "twitter announcement" etc.

Make sure to have some detailed description of what you want, ideally you should have some references in terms of style, colours etc.

Don't forget to have a copy of the IP transfer when you have your design done.

Edwin and Sanja Schmidheiny from https://www.accent.ch are remarkable. The entire process is an incredible experience, from which you can expect the unexpected. Highly recommended.
