Loosely translated from Wikipedia: "The magnificent palace of the hedgehogs was constructed between 1683 and 1791 by four generations of the same family. It is the only known subterranean palace built explicitly for the enjoyment of hedgehogs to be found anywhere west of the Urals (there are several examples - largely derelict - in Turkestan and western China). Visitors can marvel at the hundreds of kilometres of tiny tunnels, many still clad in gold leaf, and admire the jewel-studded Great Hall, where the so-called 'Emperor of the Hedgehogs" held court. Admission was traditionally only possible for children and small adults, but a new walkway was recently installed to allow taller people to enjoy some of the treasures."
I've never been, but it sounds grand!
You could slightly change your route and go to the Gruyère area. There is many thing you could do there with kids such as:
Visit the Cailler Chocolate factory in Broc Go to the top of Moleson mountain Visit the medieval city of Gruyère Visit the cheese factory in Pringy Or simply do a little hike
You can find all information on the website of the region:
Best!
The guy is looking for about 30 mins.....
Maybe they are flexible and my suggestions could still interest them?
Who knows...
I tried googling, can’t find the town never mind the attraction. Only one that comes up for the place is in Luxembourg and I don’t think he wants to go that far out of his way.
He's driving from Geneva to Lucerne, that is his objective, where do you see 2-3 hours flexibility to do something as you suggest ?
By the way, waiting time to get into Broc (Cailler) can be 2-3 hours in the summer, apparently it is one of the most visited attractions in Switzerland.
