Which boots would you buy?

The 2nd one.

The first, nicer color.
Definitely not the third, it has zero profile (no idea what the red inset thingies in the sole are).

yes, the second one, they will keep their shape the longest.

That’s a question I will probabably never have to answer anymore in my life. Bought a pair of Red Wing Shoes back on 2006. Will probably resole soon and…another 20 years?

Yes. I am inclined to this one.

I would also try them on - or be prepared to send them back.

Not all boots have the same width and you may find them too tight or just plain uncomfortable.

Pricey shoes.

Actually I thought they were rather cheap for being leather and seemingly well sewn. Except the sole.

Axa’s boots are definitely better as they are “rahmengenäht” - sewn-welted - yet at a whole different price. Hope he finds a shoemaker to resole them as they are “dying out” around here.

Well at the moment I have Dockers boots but the sole came loose after 6 months. Junk boots. So I would be reluctant to buy this brand again. And the material they use on the sole is soooo slippery in icey conditions.

Depends on your timeframe and how long yours are going to last. Your bad experience shows that cheap can get expensive rather quickly.

The ones that people on the thread basically have a smooth sole. The edges have a tread but this would be ineffective as it is flush with the smooth sole.

These are a fashion boot designed to make the user look (and feel) the rugged outdoor type but would be more at home in a shopping mall than outside in the winter.
