Just wondering if anyone has any other uses for it.
So on a whim I bought one of the big white radishes, having done some research it seems the most common uses are generally shredding and using in a salad, or grating and using essentially as a garnish.
Roasted in the oven or boiled in a stew.
Pickled. Very easy to do and delicious
Would work for me but not for the wife unless it was a very sweet pickling liquor.
I like it most steamed/simmered and eat it with a spring onion miso sauce ( negi miso) .
Making the soup for noodle soup, but then you need a lot of other ingredients too..
second this, whether it's the japanese way or daikon kimchi, love the stuff.
Fermented.
Goes perfectly well in rice paper rolls. Eliminates the need of noodles.
Great as a steak, Japanese style,- something like this: https://cookpad.com/us/recipes/320556-daikon-steak
I love it in homemade miso soup as well, or mixed into a cold buckwheat noodle salad.
