Who does your tax return?

I use Prosenectute

I do on the paper form. Have done it for years. Have it all on a spreadsheet so just need to put the figures on to the form and job done.

The Wallis tax software is beyond complicated. We get an accountant to file for us for a couple of hundred.

I’ve used ilteam.ch for the past few years and have been happy with them. They can be a bit slow but they have english speaking staff and have managed a few ‘complications’ for me in the past.

Myself in Zurich. The online system has improved dramatically over the years and basically now has everything in it already, just need to update a few figures. Collecting all the docs is a pain but actually doing it is quite quick.

My only issue is that I always procrastinate and then file it super late…

Myself in Basel - the software is good, and once you’ve done it several times, it’s quite simple.
Bank accounts in three countries.

ETA: I just requested an extension until September, which is what I do every year. There is more time to gather everything, and we usually file around June (pay taxes due by the end of the year, so everything is paid up already, it’s just the paperwork).

And you pay tax here on your bank account balances in other countries. That pisses me off!

I did the paper version for quite a few years and generally speaking it took an hour after I had all the necessary paper. Did the online one this year for the first time (ZH), about the same. Just no need to put an envelope together and post it now.

All liquid assets are taxable. But non liquid ones can put one into a higher tax bracket.

So you anyhow get taxed. No matter what you call it.

It would be a bit of a loophole if you could simply avoid taxes by storing everything in a foreign bank account.

We had an accountant till 5-6 years ago but then decided it’s not worth it since we’re doing half of her job anyway. (and it cost more than a couple of hundred, different canton)
