Groan.
Back to the topicā¦thank you for this post. It is a great suggestion for next year, why dream of a Napa Valley tour when we have so many things to do, here.
Letās not let one fraud scandal spoil it for all Swiss wine producers!! Yes, dishonest players exist. But Iām personally willing to enjoy what the good ones have to offer.
Drinkable wines from there are even more expensive than enjoyable Swiss wines
Indeed, the open cellar days / caves ouvertes / cantine aperte / offene weinkeller are a great way to travel to very nice places around Switzerland.
Probably. It would be for the experience as far as Iām concernedā¦ Iām definitely not a wine āconnoisseurāā¦I can make the difference between a good wine and an inferior one, and can guess the grape varieties and origins (that is a very hazardous guess), but thatās all.
Weāve visited some vineyards in Italy and France and the wines you could buy directly from the producers werenāt that cheap either. But wines were superior to what you can get from a general store.
Didnāt visit any winery in Spain (yet), or Portugal, for that matter; and less inclined to do so if they continue with ātourists go homeā mantra.
