thanks!
Does anyone know if/from where I can procure a small amount of wine grapes, wine must or wine grapes juice? I am aware it's not the season for grapes now, but I guess wine must or juice could be available somewhere? I need a small amount, 10-15 kg/l for a few experiments
Is pasteurized grape juice from wine varieties any good? Or the pasteurization is bad for the experiment?
It would be excellent! I want to make a grape ale (beer and wine grapes co-fermentation)
Most local winemakers sell pasteurized grape juice from the same grape they use for wine. The juice comes in plastic in 3 or 5L bags. If you're in Basel, the region around Frick/Fricktal has several winemakers (for example https://www.weinbau-hartmann.ch/ ). Maybe you know something closer.
Just in case this is useful for someone, I bought quite a few wine grapes juice concentrates from brauundrauchshop.ch
I have already a sour grape ale with syrah fermenting in the barrel and a clean grape ale with Riesling in the other barrel!
As an additional source, you could try a local farmer who sells fresh "Sauser" at around this time of year. It is freshly fermenting grape juice, often not pasteurised before bottling, so it it has a very limited shelf life as the fermentation is not complete and the alcohol content is low.
