Winzip software installs software to slow down your PC

Installed this winzip utility to clean up the registry on my laptop, and decided to delay paying for it. On reboot I noticed this message which appears to be installing a registry entry to SLOW down your laptop.

Is this legal?

You might have consented to installing that "software" inadvertently with Winzip. Best to download Winzip direct from the author's site or use WinRar / Universal Extractor.

Download CC Cleaner and an uninstaller software to remove the malware / software that is making your PC to be slow, and possibly calling home.

I would say that it delays the running of the uniblue software, not slow down your pc.

Anything has a possibility to delay the smooth working enviroment of windows os, use mac os instead. It is probably right what bertrand said, uninstalling uniblue should fix the problem.

To the OP, when you installed WinZip there will have been a tick box asking if zou want to install the extra program, which you then missed before clicking "Next". The file its installing is a registry component for the program, not one designed to slow down your PC. And yes, its perfectly legal

Just uninstall it from your PC and all will be good.

A quick Google shows that Uniblu Registry Booster is a legit program, that actually gets a good write-up. Still, not worth paying for in the slightest.

Apologies for the groan, but...
